Your Bag is Empty
It's been nearly three weeks since we updated our status to "sold out". We aren't going to lie when we say we're getting a bit restless... and from your abundant messages, emails, and comments we know you're right there with us!
So first, we want to say thanks for bearing with us while we work to restock. From the outside, it might look like we just add our ingredients to coconut water, pour them into our bottle, seal it, and there you go! In actuality, there are lots of moving parts and like a duck moving across a pond, there's a lot of action beneath the surface that you can't see.
We want to let you guys in on all of the deets, so here's where things stand:
1. Ingredients:Ingredient orders went in well before we sold out (patting ourselves on the back for being on top of that one). Once we sold out, it was just a matter of rush shipping those items to our manufacturer so they'd be ready and waiting. Only issue, our organic pea protein was lagging (there is massive demand for pea protein in the market right now and unfortunately you can't go back in time and plant more peas!). Update - it finally arrived at our production facility last weekend. Yayy!
2. Production: Now, all of the ingredients have arrived so it's time to produce the drink! We were originally scheduled to produce on Monday, but due to the cold weather at our facility, our virgin coconut oil was hard as a rock...oops! The coconut oil has gently heated, and now we are scheduled to produce later this evening or tomorrow morning.
3. Quality Control + Aging: After our product is made, it needs to sit for at least 10 days for testing. We test the drink to make sure it meets our quality standards and that everything is sterile. After that, it needs to "age" a little bit. It's kind of like wine. Our cacao tastes really bitter at first, so we need to give it at least 7 days to bloom (seriously, we have become protein sommeliers).
4. It's Go Time: So, about 14-21 days after we actually produce the drink, it's ready for prime time! If all goes according to plan (no small assumption... see above) we are looking at launching pre-orders in early April and shipping product shortly thereafter.
