One of our very favorite things about Après is the community of people that have joined us on our journey via Instagram, Facebook and email . . . before we've even launched product! There's nothing we love more than answering your questions, listening to your feedback, and engaging with each and every one of you as best we can.
To that end, we want to take some time to answer some of the questions we get asked most often. 1. When will I be able to buy Après?
It's taken our team over a year to finalize the Après formula. Needless to say, it's been a wonderful challenge to design a beverage that both tastes fantastic and contains only the best ingredients. But, after a lot of time, energy, and patience, we are almost ready to launch! We have our first production date scheduled in late September, meaning our launch will likely be mid-late October. We will be announcing our official date here soon, and will have other announcements along the way. Thank you all for your patience and support!
2. Once you launch, where will I be able to purchase Après?
Upon launch, Après will be available for sale on our website (shipping within the continental US). We will be implementing a subscription program with preferred pricing and shipping terms, as well as options for one-off purchases.
For those of you living in or traveling to the Bay Area, we will also launch in a select group of 20-30 boutique fitness studios in San Francisco and potentially the East Bay.
While our geographic expansion plans are still tbd, it's fair to say we will be looking at other (sometimes creative) ways to get you product. If you have any ideas, we're all ears!
3. Tell me more about the Après flavors
We will be launching with three flavors: Sea Salt Chocolate, Mint Cacao, and Vanilla Chai.
From a texture perspective, all three flavors can be described as light and smooth (thank you virgin coconut oil!). We intentionally steered away from that sandy, gritty mouthfeel experienced with many other plant-based protein drinks.
Despite the name Sea Salt Chocolate, the flavor isn't nearly as salty as you might think. We used a little bit of sea salt to help enhance the chocolate flavor and also provide some additional electrolytes.
The Mint Cacao has a very light and refreshing taste. We did a lot of testing on this flavor with our customers and continued to hear how important it was to have a mint that was fresh but not overwhelmingly powerful. So, when you sip this flavor, it starts off with a smooth, chocolate flavor and then finishes with clean, cool mint notes.
Vanilla Chai is not so much "vanilla plus chai" but rather its own unique creation. A very natural tasting (read: not overly sweet) vanilla hits your tastebuds first and is then closely followed by a spicy chai taste to finish. We think you'll really like this flavor if you're a chai spice lover and come in with an open mind, as our feedback has been quite positive. We think it's the perfect grab and go morning snack straight out of the refrigerator!

4. When should I drink Après?
While Après was inspired by the post-workout moment, you can drink it whenever works best for you. One of our friends described it as a "liquid snack bar." Sounds weird, but also accurate! Sometimes we like to drink it as a 3PM snack to hold us over until dinner or as a healthy alternative to dessert. At just 180 calories, it's the perfect weapon to fight hanger.
5. Is Après USDA organic?
While Après is not USDA organic certified, it is made with organic ingredients. Now, what exactly does that mean? It means that while we can't use the USDA seal on our label, over 95% of our product's non-water weight is comprised of organic-certified ingredients.
Our organic ingredients include coconut water, our protein blend (pea, chia, cacao, hemp), virgin coconut oil, coconut sugar, cocoa powder, sunflower lecithin, madagascar vanilla extract, and monk fruit extract.
We only have 4 ingredients in our product that are not "certified" organic. Those 4 ingredients include our electrolyte blend (potassium phosphate and sea salt), gellan gum, cinnamon bark oil (vanilla chai only), and natural flavors.
6. Is Après non-GMO?
Yes, Après in non-GMO! This means that none of our ingredients are genetically modified.
7. Can men drink Après?
Absolutely. Our cofounder Sonny drinks Après nearly every day. No males were harmed in the creation and testing of this product!
8. How much will Après cost?
We will be selling Après online through our website at $5.95 per bottle. You will be able to purchase the bottles in 6-packs of each flavor or a variety pack with two of each flavor. You can also subscribe and have Après delivered to your door monthly at a lower price. As we get closer to our launch date we will announce more details around this.
9. How did we pick our packaging?
Our original plan was to go into a plastic bottles (which we were not stoked about) but over time, we learned that there were a few other options that were more eco friendly. We thought about glass but realized that it would be too heavy and fragile, making cost effective door-to-door delivery all but impossible. It was our goal to create a beverage that someone could just throw in her purse or bag and take to work, the studio, or wherever else her life takes her. After some research we came across Tetra Pak as a packaging option.
Tetra Pak is recycled paperboard packaging that allows a product to be both durable and light, is also environmentally friendly. 100% of the paperboard used by Tetra Pak comes from controlled wood sources, meaning forests independently certified as being managed in accordance with the principles of sustainable forest management (yay for replanting trees!). Then the caps themselves come from bio-based plastic. When we discovered all of the benefits to this type of packaging we knew immediately that this was the way to go.
